Actress Adah Sharma has officially announced her Marathi film debut with Gajra, sharing the title and first-look poster of the upcoming project on social media. Introducing the film to her followers, the actress kept it simple and exciting, captioning the post, “Gajra - my marathi film debut.” The announcement quickly caught the attention of fans, who flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages and warm wishes as she ventures into a new chapter of her acting career.

The first-look poster has already generated significant buzz online due to its striking and unsettling imagery. Adah is seen with blood-like splatters across her face while wearing a traditional gajra floral garland, creating a haunting visual that hints at a horror-thriller narrative. The intense look immediately reminded many fans of her memorable performance in 1920, where she played a possessed character that remains one of the most iconic roles of her career.

Directed by Shreyas Jadhav and backed by Zigzag Productions and Ganraj Studios, Gajra is slated for a theatrical release in 2027. While the makers have not yet revealed plot details, the atmospheric poster has fueled speculation that the film could explore supernatural or psychological horror themes. Fans from Maharashtra were especially excited to welcome Adah to Marathi cinema, noting that the actress is fluent in the language and well-suited for regional storytelling.

The announcement comes during a busy phase in Adah Sharma’s career. The actress was recently seen in Governor: The Silent Saviour, which stars National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role. Inspired by the events surrounding India's 1990 economic crisis, the film explores the institutional dynamics between the Reserve Bank of India and the Government of India. Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the Sunshine Pictures banner, the film was released on June 12.

Adah remains one of the most recognizable faces in Indian cinema, having earned widespread popularity through the Commando franchise alongside Vidyut Jammwal. However, her biggest commercial breakthrough came with The Kerala Story, which became one of the most talked-about films of recent years. With Gajra, the actress is now set to explore Marathi cinema, and the intriguing first look suggests she may once again be stepping into a role that combines mystery, intensity, and suspense.
